Marie Curie Cancer Care

Cancer is the UK’s biggest killer claiming 423 lives every day.

For more than 50 years across the UK Marie Curie Cancer Care has been caring for people affected by cancer and their families.

At Marie Curie Cancer Care we think people should be able to decide where they spend the last few weeks of their lives.

So for those patients who would like to be cared for at home, the Marie Curie Nursing service plays a vital role. Our Nurses work through the day and nights, usually eight or nine hours at a time, to care for the patients and allow the family to get some well-earned rest.

In addition to providing expert nursing care for the patient – free of charge – Marie Curie Nurses are also there to give emotional support and advice to the family. As well as providing a home nursing service, the charity runs local Marie Curie hospices in Liverpool, Bradford and Newcastle which provide the best possible quality of life for people with cancer.

Wynnster Kestrel 6 Person Tent

The Wynnster Kestrel 6 person tent from Winfields is a superb tunnel tent benefiting from three separate bedrooms. There is also the large porch/living area with 4 windows allowing plenty of light in to the living area.

• The tent pitches flysheet first and the pitching advice is 2 people to pitch in 30mins.
• All fabrics used in for the flysheet, sleeping compartments and groundsheets have been given a Fire Retardant treatment, which in the event of an emergency will allow significantly more time to escape.
• Each Wynnster tent is supplied with a repair kit and they include useful items to carry out emergency repairs.
• The taped seams are heat sealed with a polyurethane tape to ensure complete waterproof protection.
• The poles benefit from a colour coding system. This incorporates colour-coded poles and pole sleeves, groundsheet clip points, plus colour coded bedroom-hanging points thus reducing the assembly time by highlighting the correct place for each part.
• The poles are supaflex fibreglass – these are robust poles manufactured from durable fibreglass. Fibres are constructed length ways providing strong weather resistant performance.Steel porch poles.
• The groundsheet is sewn in and is fire retardant, durable polyethylene.
• The complete interior ofthe tent(the communal space & bedrooms) has the benefit of an integral, bathtub style groundsheetand secondary mesh doors, which will effectively keep this space free from insects and draughts.
• The main pegging points have been reinforced with several layers of fabric and strong bar tack stitching to provide maximum strength.

Winfields Megastore are currently running a series of TV adverts fronted by Stuart Hall of ‘Its a Knockout’ fame. I have the adverts but need to get them converted for display here on the Winfields Megastore blog and probably YouTube as well.
